matches the order, enter the order number from the confirm into the appropriate field on the ticket. This field will be highlighted when the Match Confirm screen opens. Then move the cursor to the appropriate box at the bottom of the screen, and click or press enter. The program will display the First, Previous, Next or Last order for that day as requested. To stop matching confirms, click on the OK button. The entry of an order number triggers the removal of the U from the first column of the Main View Screen. Once you are finished calculating the commission, you can paste the result into the current order, or simply close the commission calculator window. To paste your result into your order, click on Paste. To close the Commission calculator without Pasting in the commission, click on OK. Most people place a check mark on the paper confirm when it has been matched. At most firms, you may save your confirms in date order, and a few allow you to discard the paper confirms once the transaction number is recorded, since copies of the confirm are available on microfilm or imaging files. Some firms and states require that confirms be placed in the client file. Check with your compliance department for the method appropriate for you. To keep In/Out orders from showing up on your Unconfirmed Orders screen, enter the check number or part of the certificate number as the order number. Net Trades If you are doing a net trade such as a principal order OTC or a Syndicate order, enter your production credit in the Commission field, and the Net Price in the Price field. Click on the Commission included in Price button. By handling the order this way, you will have your production credit counted in BOOKSä Gross Commissions calculation, but it will be clear that it is a net price on the ticket. Manager Review and Approval Only the Advisor who is designated as the Branch Manager can perform this function. The Manager can review orders easily on the screen. Start at the Main View Screen, and display the File menu. Press U for Utilities, then A for Approve orders. The entire order screen for the oldest unapproved order will be displayed. Inspect the order. If it meets with your approval, click on the approval button at the bottom of the screen. Your initials will appear in the Manager Approval box. To look at the next order, click on the Next button. When you have approved all unapproved orders, if you choose Next, you will get a blank order. Click on Done. If you have a question about the order, you can inspect the Account page to check suitability. Simply click on the Acct button at the bottom of the screen. When you are through looking at the Account screen, press the Cancel button to return to the order that you were previously inspecting. When you have finished inspecting and approving all orders, click on the Done button. If you try to approve orders, and all orders have been approved, a purple box in the upper right corner of the screen will say "No orders to approve." If a advisor who is not a branch manager tries to approve orders, he or she will get that same "No orders to approve." message.
