Printing Reports

The Print menu controls all output to your printer. If you need a written copy of anything from your files, go to the Print menu. For ease of use, BOOKS has preformatted reports that are designed to meet your needs.
You can print a customer position page, a cross-reference page, a telephone list, a list of open orders, your daily buy and sell blotters, a list of orders to place and even an order ticket if you need it.
BOOKS uses the Printer functions built into Windows, so it will work with any printer that works with your other Windows programs. There is such a variety fo

printers on the market that it is impossible to test with every one, so if any report does not properly print on your system, contact Brown & Overton immediately at support@brownandoverton.com and we will attempt to make it work on your system unless your printer is a legacy (Pre-Windows 95 Plug n Play.) printer.
How to Print a Report
To select a report to print, either click on Print on the Menu Bar to display the Print Menu, or press Alt+P. Use the arrow keys to move the highlight to the report you desire, and press Enter, or click on the report you want with the mouse. At this point, you will be offered the choice of printing to the printer or the screen, and can indicate how many copies of the report you want printed.  Make your choices, and click on OK.
Print Orders to Place
This command gives you a handy piece of paper to hold in your hand if you are calling in orders, or if you are a Advisor and your office uses an order entry clerk and you are not using the replication engine. The Orders to Place printout gives all the information you need to say to the trader in the order you want to say it, or that it is entered into the order system. This is the one piece of paper that brokers still find very helpful. When reports are called back to you, there may not be time to call up your BOOKS program. This gives you an organized way to take the report, noting the time and offset broker, on only one piece of paper. You can then say good-bye to the trader and enter the information on your BOOKSsystem.
Print Blotters
The daily buy and sell blotters required by compliance are easily produced by this command, and can be used to check your office's trade blotters against those from the home office. You can produce the blotter for any trade date.  From the Main View Screen, display the Print Menu by pointing and clicking with the mouse or by pressing Alt+P on the keyboard. Press B to print blotters.
The Print Blotters Window will appear. To print for selected dates, or for one day only, move the highlight to the day that you want, then press the spacebar to select. Click on OK, or use Tab to highlight OK and press Enter. You can print all orders since a certain date without individually selecting the dates by filling in a date in the box in the upper right corner of the window, then choosing OK. Note that the blotter for that date will NOT be printed: reports will start with the following business day.
Note: If you are not the Branch Manager, the blotter will contain only your own or
