Hints and Caveats
When you retrieve customer holdings reports, securities prices are displayed as of the last market close. If you retrieve a report in the evening while the prices are being updated, the prices may be temporarily set to $.01.
OverDrive™ interacts with the Home Office System by typing in sequences of characters and function keys, just as if it were a person typing the same information. The speed with which OverDriveÔ can assemble information that you request is thus limited by the responsiveness of the Home-Office system, which varies significantly from time to time.
Since the reliability of the communications path to the Home-Office System is not perfect, your OverDrive™ commands will sometimes fail. If so, just push the bright red OverDriveÔ CANCEL button, and repeat your command.
If you are an experienced user of the Home-Office Systems, you may wish to access the screens directly. You can do this at any time, simply by clicking your mouse on the terminal emulator window, or by using the WINDOW Menu to switch to the desired window.
When you exit from OverDriveÔ, you will be asked if you want to disconnect your Rumba® Inquiry and/or Order Entry session. There is no need to disconnect a session if you plan to use it again soon. When you start OverDriveÔ again, it will automatically detect that the Rumba® session is running.
