The Beta version of OverDrive included on your CD includes a simplified version of Microsoft's Internet Explorer that has been customized to take you to favorite online sites for your firm such as Hot News, Market Information (the Bloch Report, Dorsey-Wright, Scott Brown Daily, etc) and Product Information (such as Equity Research, Mutual Funds, Insurance & Annuities, and Standard & Poor's).. It also will take you to Advisor's Resource.  It saves your passwords in a private file so you do not have to re-enter them each time, and organizes your Home Office favorites so that you do not have to include them in your other Favorites list.

To choose to use this option, you must already have Internet Explorer 4.01 or higher installed on your computer.  Then, when you install the OverDrive Beta version, your OverDrive setup will give you the option of using this feature, as you can see in the lower left corner of the screen shot of the OverDrive Setup window below.  If you try the feature and decide that you do not like it, you can go into setup again and remove it by taking out your user name and password.

Among those users who pre-tested this feature, an oft-mentioned plus was that it was nice that you could open Advisor's Resource and download the information, and that then using your usual Internet Explorer icon to go to a research or mutual fund site did not close the Advisor's Resource site.
