Program Overview

What is OverDrive™?
OverDriveÔ is your Electronic Assistant for the Back Office and Order Entry Systems. It gives you easy access to information through the Rumba interface without requiring that you learn long sequences of menus, function keys or order formats.  Further,  you can give OverDriveÔ the necessary user ID's and passwords for access just once. Thereafter, OverDriveÔ will automatically connect you to the Home Office. OverDriveÔ responds to your requests by assembling information (usually from several Home-Office-System screens) on a single scrollable screen, called the OverDriveÔ NotePad. You can then edit the NotePad, print it on your printer, copy parts of it into another Windows® application such as a word-processing document or spreadsheet, or save it to a text file.
OverDrive™ Highlights
Account Inquiry
Provided you have been approved for access, OverDriveÔ provides commands for accessing customer positions, customer activity, and all other customer information available from Account Inquiry or the back office. You simply point and click at an account number or account name to retrieve a report. A security cross-reference report provides you with a list of all your customers holding a particular security, either by Account Executive or by Branch.  In addition, with AdvisorTools.com specially designed Summary command, a single request retrieves customer account balances and securities positions priced as of last night.  Click here for details.
Securities Information
You can access a Research Summary on a stock simply by typing in its symbol. You can retrieve inventory lists for bonds available through OLOS, such as muni bonds for your state, government bonds, and corporate bonds.
Order Entry for Stocks
For BOOKSÔ users authorized for wire order entry, OverDriveÔ places orders for stocks entered in BOOKSÔ by transmitting them to the Home-Office Order Entry System. OverDrive™ will pick up your reports and write them into your BOOKS™ records after they have been reviewed by you.  Finally, you can match your ticket against the confirmation in the back office.  If, after viewing the spreadsheet style comparison matrix, your confirms match your tickets, OverDrive™ will write the transaction number on your ticket, confirming that you matched confirms, and, in addition, fill in the net trade amount and commission for each trade.
Order Entry for Mutual Funds
OverDrive™ places orders for Mutual Funds entered in BOOKS™ by transmitting them to the Mutual Fund Trading Desk through the Raymond James Correspondence System.
Wire Correspondence
A single click gets into the Correspondence System so you can send memos directly to Home Office Departments.
The OverDrive™ NotePad
OverDrive™ copies the information you request to the OverDrive™ NotePad, a single, scrollable screen. It automatically cuts and pastes, excluding the extraneous text at the top and bottom of the screens. You can edit the NotePad, copy it to the Clipboard (and thus into other Windows® applications), and save the NotePad as a text file.
Requirements for Installing OverDrive™
OverDrive™ requires a computer installed as a Pulse 2000 terminal, using Rumba® from Wall Data Systems that meets all hardware requirements of Pulse & Rumba.  In addition, there should be sufficient free hard drive space to allow all three programs to operate, generally  at least 32 MB free space.
