OverDrive Setup

When you first start OverDrive after installation, you will see a screen that says "Please Enter Your Setup Information". Click on OK, and the OverDrive™ setup screen is displayed (You can also access the OverDrive setup screen by clicking on File then OverDrive Setup while running OverDrive.) :

Filling Out the Screen

OverDrive Password -- You will be asked for this password each time you start OverDrive™.
Information about yourself and your branch. The
Order Entry ID is the three-letter code that is assigned to your terminal if you are enabled for wire order entry.
(Not shown) If you are the branch manager, you can choose to access information for all your registered reps. Check  "Access Rep's Accounts" to only see your own clients, or "Access All Accounts" to see all accounts for your branch.
States for Muni Bonds are used when you request Muni Bond Inventories.  List the two-letter state abbreviations separated by commas for your desired states.
The
Clear NotePad... option is the only one you should normally change. Turn this option off if you want to accumulate information from several requests. Otherwise, the NotePad is cleared before each report is retrieved.
This
left margin is used when you print the NotePad. Unless your circumstances are very unusual, leave it at the default setting.
If you are enabled for wire order entry, turn on the
Order Entry Enabled option. If you want to have OverDrive™ attempt to enter your listed orders through the third market, select that option. Automatic search for Orders should not be checked.BOOKS Directories: This is where your BOOKS™ data files reside. OverDrive™ uses this for order entry and for retrieving account information.  By default, OverDrive™ assumes that your BOOKS™ directory is C:\BOOKS. If your BOOKS™ data is in a different location, such as a network drive, first Add the correct location, then delete the default C:\BOOKS.  In the illustration, C:\BOOKS has been replaced with M:\BOOKS.
You won't need to change the Rumba® profile names unless you have a non-standard Pulse-2000 installation.
The Terminal Speed Control is used to compensate for slow response from the back-office systems. You can set any value between 1 and 10. 1 is the slowest, 10 is the fastest, 5 is normal. If necessary, adjust for reliable operation.
When you have finished filling in the Setup screen, click on
OK. From now on when you start OverDrive™ you are asked only for your rep number and password.
You can return to the setup screen at any time using the
OverDrive Setup command in the File menu.
